Saturday we visited the USS Turner Joy in downtown Bremerton. The ship was a lot larger than it appeared from the outside. Even so, it was hard to envision a crew of 350 men stuffed into its cramped interior.

We had been wanting to get a view of Mount Ranier while we in Seattle, but the weather hadn't co-operated until yesterday. We pulled off the road and got a few pictures on our way out of town.
About 150 miles east of Seattle, Interstate 90 crosses the Columbia River
Jose' and the Columbia River
Unfortunately before we made our way across the state line, we encountered a SPEED TRAP at a rest stop at the 162 mile marker. The unmarked car was parked on the entrance ramp of the rest stop and the chase cars were poised on the exit ramp like fighters on the deck of an air craft carrier. I was the last car in a string of about four cars and not really paying attention to my speed. They all shifted to the right lane at the entrance to the rest stop, leaving me in the cross hairs. They stopped four other cars while I was being processed.
Keep Washington green!
Just across the Montana line is the town of Saltese. We snapped a picture of the bar where we ate breakfast on our trip to Seattle in 1984.
More later.
